The daily sunset celebration is now a traditional part of Key West, one not to be missed by anyone visiting here. Sunsets truly are special here, for several reasons. It's partly because of geography, which allows for a giant sun setting over water, a gorgeous site in itself. It's also partly because the people of Key West really know how to party it up on the waterfront, in honor of a sunset. There are barkers, street theater players, musicians, living statue-types like Silverman, and a festive mood that can't be beat. It's easy to find, and you always know when it will take place. Festivities start about one hour before sunset. It's free, it's casual, and it's loads of fun. The circus-type performers and hard-working musicians, everyone out there making the celebration possible by some sort of performance, asks for tips and donations, so bring some singles with you. You can find cheap eats from the vendors, and oh, don't forget to catch the sunset amidst all the excitemet!
