This is a marine mammal reserach and education facility that allows visitors the chance to learn all about dolphins and get to know them in the water, if they choose. The lifestyles and habits of the bottlenose dolphin is of unending interest, and the chance to meet them and touch them in the water is really something you will never forget. They offer two daily swim programs, which last for 2 and a half hours. Of course not the entire time is spent in the water, but rather in an orientation session, where you'll learn not only about the way dolphins communicate, but also about their social structure and their anatomy. The actual swim session lasts half an hour, and you must be comfortable swimming under water with snorkel, mask & fins. If you have children under 13 years old, you must accompany them in the water for the dolphin swim. Children under the age of 8 are not allowed in the water with the dolphins. They also have other dolphin programs, for varying lengths of time and for varying degrees of interest...structured and non-structured. Call for directions and the required reservations. Pregnant women may not participate in the water programs. (305) 451-1993 or (866) 860-7946.
