Attractions in Big Pine Key

Located at MM 30.5, Bayside on Key Deer Boulevard

The Blue Hole is home to the Florida Keys' only known alligators. Gators live in fresh water, so it's rare they can live anywhere throughout the Keys, but here at The Blue Hole there is fresh water. There's a parking area and a walkway partway around the small body of water. There's a little lookout-stand for gazing at the water, trying to catch a glimpse of the alligators. It's also good for nicely-framed photo ops. There are also some ducks and other wading birds, all living in harmony under the palmy mini-forest canopy at The Blue Hole.
